A Brand and its Identity
Kayla's Laces is a fake brand I created along with its logo and name. Kayla's Laces is a company that sells exotic shoelaces, which adds spice and color to your shoes!
Name and Logo Ideation
After deciding on a product that this brand would create, I started by brainstorming on names. For a majority of the beginning of this project, I stuck with Styglets, which was a mashup of the words "style" and "aglets". However I felt this name was lacking. So I switched over to Kailaggu, which was a play on the word "kailagu" from the language Kannada which means to have dexterity to one's hands. However I believed that this was too far abstract to be distinguishable for the brand. Eventually I came up with the name Kayla's Laces, similar to how other designer and fashion brands were, where someone's name was the face of the brand itself.
