A Look into Exploitation and Poverty
For this project, I designed two infographics, both talking about economic inequality, but each needed to have their own target audiences.
For the first poster, It dealt with the effects of poverty on the United States and the economic disparity between the impoverish and rich. The target audience for this poster was for well-off people in their 40-50s, where they had the opportunity to grow in their career, often times forgetting the times in their childhood or college years what it was like to live with little to no money. This target audience is more educated than the target audience for the other poster, often times more numbers focused, which is why I decided to go with a numerical statistics infographic.
For the second poster, it dealt with the exploitation of workers from the top three richest people in the United States. The poster is supposed to resemble a corkboard, often times found in warehouse and/or manufacturing facilities that these workers work in. The target audience for this poster is people in their 18 through mid-20s who never went to college. The poster is designed in such a way to teach this target audience of the exploitation that they either don't even know about because they don't know anything different, or are struggling with silently.
Sketches and Research
It was pretty difficult settling on an idea for this project, which is the reason why I explored so many different concepts for these posters. I ended up choosing the two best representing my target audiences, and which were visually appealing, to progress forward to design.
